Global Clash 2002 @ Amazura Nightclub

Mighty Crown came out to be the last sound standing at the Royal Rumble event known as Global Clash 2k2 in New York. They outlasted Earthruler in the final rounds and dub fi dub to take home the trophy for this years edition. The clash consisted of 6 sounds instead of the original format of 8 sounds. Bassodyssey was promoted to be in the clash but due to conflicting reports were not scheduled for the dance. Madd Squad also was promoted but due to difficulties were not able to make it. So in addition to Mighty Crown and Earthruler the lineup consisted of last years defending champion Blackcat, Desert Storm representing Canada, King Agony from New York and Poison Dart from the island of Antigua.

The format was scheduled for first round elimination and each sound had to pick a number to determine who plays each other. After all the numbers were drawn, the first round matchup was Blackcat vs King Agony, Desert Storm vs Mighty Crown and Earthruler vs Poison Dart. Blackcat won their first round over King Agony and eliminated them with Panther playing some new chunes and receiving more crowd approval than Killa Bo. The crowd was asked once to decide and Blackcat was chosen. Mighty Crown won their round over Desert Storm who were very impressive in their first clash in the US. They played a custom built for Mighty Crown and the other sounds in the dance and attacked Sammy and Simon throughout their round. But it was Mighty Crown who came in and played some of their anthems and got the forwards from the crowd, that put them into the 2nd round. Desert Storm accepted defeat but told NY to look out for them in the future. Earthruler continued from the same pattern that won them the Biltmore cup in the summer. They leveled Amazura with the original chunes from that era from start to finish. Poison Dart had no chance to overcome that fury left by Earthruler and was eliminated after their round.

In the 2nd round basically was led by Earthruler who continued the pace from their 1st round. Mighty Crown was 2nd in the round leaving Blackcat to be eliminated after this round. After this both Ruler and Crown played two 15 minute rounds each with Ruler leading the dance but one for one it was Mighty Crown who took the lead after Earthruler began to stumble. The crowd gave Crown more forwards than they gave Ruler and that enabled them to win the trophy for the dance.
