Ganja Baby, Dready and I arrived around 1:30am and the venue was moderatly populated with patrons who were waiting for the bashment to begin. As I 'patrolled' the venue and got early shots, I couldn't help but wonder if the weather was gonna keep people in and flop Vicious. I am glad to report that this was not the case. Jason Steel was taking care of the vibes as we headed to the bar and settled in for the long haul. Big up to Jason Steele for doing a great job at setting the tone for the evening. Mr. Vicious was looking sharp and the Snatch Gyal Crew was in full effect, up in the front representing to the fullest! In the blink of an eye, the venue filled up and the 'racatan' began. Next up was Raw Deal sound. Dre gave the massive the fullness with tunes on the G-String, the Mexican and the Diwali, of course. We all know that no birthstrong bash is complete with out the customary CHAMPANGE SPLASH and my Lord, dem wet up mi friend Vicious...Unfortunatly there was no video light, but the ladies (and gents) more than made up for the oversight!...It was at this point that things got a little hairy. A fight broke out, but it was quickly moved outside and the evening continued to progress. Raw Deal proceded to give us the bashment and you could tell that 'talk up' time was about to begin. Rebel T was next and MI GOSH, dem give it to we pon Saturday night. The guys played tunes like 'I Will Survive', 'If You Could Read My Mind' and all of the tunes that the ladies love to spin their roll to. I jumped down off the stage and started to get myself in gear. Dready, Gbaby and I were dancing up and carrying on and then...one big RASS FIGHT bruk! My God, I don't even know how that one got started but it was big and security was having a hard time containing it. It went from one end of the club to another and jeez, it neva look to good...fi real. I'm no saint, and I have had a fight or two in dances, but there comes a time when we have to let the beef go and stop letting it destroy our character. I'm not gonna sit here and say turn the other cheek and don't defend yourself. I'm not gonna say that our emotions don't sometimes get the best of us, but at the same token, a man's BIRTHSTRONG dance was ruined and from where I was standing, someone definitely got hurt. People, if this keeps up, we're gonna loose another venue and dat nah go nice, cause the pickings are slim as it is. After the ladies were removed from the venue my folks and I proceeded to try and enjoy ourselves. Vicious pleaded with the patrons to be on their best behavior and continue to enjoy the dance. He was EXTREMELY upset that the vibes were destroyed. PG Police said that the dance could go on but the sound would have to be turned down...THEN something else sparked off outside and Rebel T was given the official 'TELL THE PEOPLE TO EXIT' speech. Steelie Bashment was there and he didn't even get to play. He announced that he would catch up with the patrons next time...What a waste!... This was the low point for me. I braved the weather to come out and get the scoop, and more importantly to help Vicious celebrate his birthstrong....Here I was at 3:30am...on my damn way home! People, lets try to get better with this because we're only hurting ourselves! >>>>Keep Checking the 'Pictures Section' for flicks from this dance<<<< Before I go, I gotta give Bashy Shoutz to the following: Rebel T (thanks guys), Son (original GT Promoter), FireOats, Rufus, Raw Deal, Jason Steele, Steelie Bashment (beautiful boy), Teddy Bear, Revolution Sound, Lion Vibes, Desi & Bigga, Rebels Prom., Ras Blanks and the Destiny Family, Likkle Miss (fam fi life), Babygirl, Gina & Terry and an EXTRA BASHY SHOUT to Mrs. Shorty on the birth of her beautiful twin girls, congrats to you and your hubby!
