Black Star 31st Anniversary…

Hey again folks! I'm here again to give you the scoop on Black Stars Anniversary event, featuring Johnny Osbourne, Shinehead and Brigadeer Jerry.

Black Star is a foundation sound that was very prominent in DC in the 80's and very early 90's. They left the DC area and went to Florida and they are now back to bring us extreme niceness and a lot of foundation. Black Star is a veteran sound in the business and like Emperor sound, there is a definite history. When I learned that Black Star would be back in DC I was truly pleased to know that a sound that I grew up with would be coming back to take the DC area by storm.

We arrived at the venue around 1am and it was sparsly populated with supporters. As I surveyed the scene and mingled with my folks, I noticed that there were a lot of faces there that I haven't seen in a while. Big up to all of the elders that came out that night to support Red Gold and the Black Star family.

Emperor was playing when we arrived and Rawborn did a great job of keeping up the consious vibes in the lawn. I decided to take pictures so I walked around a bit.

Next up was Black Star sound…The played an impeccable set and promised even better vibes later in the night…Welcome home Black Star!

The artists were in attendance but did not get to perform because the owner of the venue did not honor the time change (extra hour)…This brings me back to our need of new venues, and it is a hot topic on the Bashment Board, so check it out!

At this point BLU.com had to head out to Baltimore of Rebels & Flava Scorpio Affair…check out the pictures from both of these events! Enjoy :)

Smooches,
Kimmy Bashment
